The 5-Day Hot Metabolism Booster

Everyone hits a weight-loss plateau at some point and needs a slump-busting plan to get those pounds moving again. This 5-Day plan will help you do just that!

The centerpiece of the plan is the Hot Metabolism Booster Cocktail (recipe below) that you will be drinking as a “snack”, three times a day: morning, mid-day, and evening. The cocktail, due to its high water content, helps you to get filled up and stay fuller longer while keeping calories down.

Protocol

Enjoy the cocktail three times a day, and stick to these healthy foods for the rest of your daily menu:

Beverages: Drinking plenty of water between meals is a fundamental principle of Fat Flushing, in general.
Protein: By filling up on lean protein (eggs, fish, seafood, poultry, and whey) you can raiseĀ  your metabolism by roughly 25 percent.
Veggies: Green and low-starch vegetables help to further detox your system while you increase fat burning.
Fats: Including another tablespoon of olive oil, in addition to what is in the cocktail will keep you satisfied so you can better stave off hunger pains. (Good fats are the most potent blood-sugar stabilizers)
Fruits: Berries, rich in fiber and flavonoids, combine with whey protein to provide a high-volume breakfast or snack.

Cocktail Recipe

Serves 1

Ingredients
1 large tomato, or 8 ounces V8 or Knudsen’s Very Veggie Juice
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice
1/2 cup filtered water (unless using juice)
Handful of fresh parsley
Handful of fresh cilantro
1 green onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/8 teaspoon cayenne (or as desired)
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon Seaweed Gomasio
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon Flora-Key
1 tablespoon chia seeds
6 ice cubes

Directions
Combine all ingredients in a blender until the desired consistency is reached.

    The hot metabolism booster is really delicious! Just wanted to check, mine is green in color rather than red. I followed the recipe so I’m thinking it might be my generous handfuls of parsley and cilantro?

      Could be! We say as long as you’re sticking with the ingredients listed, don’t worry about the color. Like you said, it’ll vary depending on preference of particular ingredients.

    Drinking mine right now and it is delish! I also used this about two years ago. I did 2-3 drinks a day for 5 days while also following a low carb diet. It helped me to lose about 10 lbs! The best part.. is that the weight stayed off because I continued with Healthy Diet and exercise. So, this is my go-to when I need to lose a few lbs :)

    Hello – If I am considering the Smoothie Shakedown or the Classic Fat Flush – how does this fit in? Is it in one of the phases? A kick start to the plan? Or just a plateau booster?

      Yes! The Hot Metabolism Booster cocktail can be used for all of these! :) Let me clarify…

      If you’re doing the Smoothie Shakedown/Phase 1 of Classic FF, the HMB cocktail can be enjoyed during the day as a “snack”. -OR- You can use it to break a plateau by following the 5-Day Hot Metabolism Booster plan.     ok i would love to try this along with what my weight doctor has me doing im on a 500 calorie diet a day i want to know if this would makeme go over my calorie limit so far in 4 weeks im done 28 pounds and im now at a stand still

      Not sure if the calorie count would exceed your daily allowance, as it can vary. The free calorie counters online are really great resources, and because you enter in your personal intake, the numbers are tailored and specific to your case.

    HI, i am about to start the shakedown and may use the hot metabolism booster as a snack. Why do you suggest whey protein on the protein list for the Metabolism Booster program instead of the body protein?

      Hi Lisa! You can use whichever protein powder you prefer for the 5-Day Hot Metabolism Booster program. However, it’s important to use the Body Protein if you’re doing the Shakedown. The Body Protein is a plant-based protein (pea and rice protein) so it’s advantageous on this program for a few reasons– it contains no dairy (whereas whey is derived from cow’s milk) so it helps steer clear of any risk of lactose reactions (some people don’t realize they’re lactose intolerant until they cut out dairy for this program and start to feel better). Plant protein also has the satiety factor, which means it keeps you fuller, longer. (Very important when you’re having 2 smoothies + 1 meal a day). And, finally, using the plant-based protein while you’re detoxing is gentle on your system…it’s like hitting the “reset” button on your metabolism.

    I’ve done this before and it helped me to lose about 12 lbs! I also did it while following a low carb diet. I’ll definitely be doing this again soon. Do you think I can make three servings at one time and store in the refrigerator for the day?

    Hi! The Hot Metabolism Booster is much tastier than I had anticipated. What was said above about those who dislike V8 and standard tomato juices is true! I have never cared for those but this was different. Tummy felt a little weird, though, so I’m going slow with this until I adjust — which I’m sure I will.

    I do have a question about the Seaweed Gomasio. I thought the purpose of taking this was because of the iodine content of the seaweed; however, the nutrition facts on label didn’t list any iodine. So, I’m a little confused about that.

      Hi Gina! Glad you like our recipe! It might take some time for your system to adjust depending on all kinds of factors– hang in there! ;)

      As far as the Seaweed Gomasio, all seaweed has iodine by virtue of growing in the iodine rich sea environment. It is not listed on the label because the amount of iodine is not analyzed for each seaweed component.

    The recipe calls for filtered water unless using juice. Which juice, the lemon or lime juice? If adding the lemon or lime juice do you skip the water? If not using lemon or lime juice you do use the water and along with the ice cubes??

      Hi Vicki! If you are using juice and your cocktail is a bit thick for your taste, feel free to add a bit of water. Ice is also a preference piece- use as little or as much as you’d like.

    I just started the 1 month smoothie shakedown and it says to break after the 2nd week for a week. Could I do the fat flush soup diet or the 5 day hot metabolism booster durning that week and be a good move? Also, it does not state how much of the approved food to consume if doing the hot metabolism booster….can you advise? Thanks!

      Hi Amanda! The reason to take a 1-week break after the initial 2 weeks is because your weightloss is likely to stall due to limited calorie intake. (Your body starts hanging on, instead of letting go.) You can follow a modified Shakedown where you have 2 SS-approved meals a day, with 1 smoothie (instead of 2 smoothies and 1 meal). You can certainly have the FF Soup as your meals, and/or the HMB Cocktail as a snack. For the approved foods if you’re using the HMB during the 1-week “break”, you can continue to follow the SS protocol: unlimited veggies, 1-2 eggs, lean meats, etc.

    I’v lost 14 lbs so far on the classic fat flush and I have a good amount of flaxseed oil, I feel like i’m hitting that plateau point, can I substitute the Flax for the Chai seeds?

      Hi Chelsea! The HMB is a great plateau buster! Flaxseed oil is a-ok for the cocktail, however the chia seeds are recommended for their fibrous contribution. If you make the swap, be sure to stay tuned to your body’s reaction and adjust accordingly.

    Does it taste tomatoy? I don’t like tomato drinks.

      Hi Linda! One of the main ingredients is tomato or tomato juice, so the cocktail does have a tomatoy flavor. Tomatoes are high in vitamin C and increase satiety (keeps you fuller, longer) because of their high water content. The other ingredients do add additional flavors though- think of it as a non-alcoholic Bloody Mary. ;)

    So right now I am at 130 and I am looking to be at 120 as a long term goal. I have been an athlete all my life and my body fat is currently at 19%. I would like my body fat to be at 15%… I have struggled for so long to lose 10 pounds. Will this protocol help me reset my body and break through to lose some fat?

      Hi Gia! The HMB was formulated to jumpstart weight loss or bust a plateau- give it a try and see what it can do for you!     Hi i have a few questions:
    I wanted to know do i have to eat lean protein eggs, fish, seafood, poultry, and whey, if yes when do i eat it if i am drinking the metabolic for Breafast, Lunch and Dinner?
    Can i just have the FF shakes instead of eating lean protein? How many times would i drink the shakes.
    Can i have the hot metabolic booster B,L,D, and the shake for snacks?

      Hi Mary! The Day Hot Metabolism Booster cocktail is not meant to be a meal replacement for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lean protein, fruits, veggies, and fats are super important for your body’s natural processes and nutrition. If you want to do smoothies, feel free! (Although we still advise having 1-2 daily meals consisting of whole foods.) Think of the cocktail as more of a snack than a meal. Know what I mean? An example of what you’ll eat in 1 day:
      Breakfast: Hot Metabolism Booster cocktail
      Snack: 1 hardboiled egg
      Lunch: Garden salad with grilled chicken
      Snack: HMB cocktail
      Dinner: grilled tilapia with steamed spinach
      Before Bed snack: HMB cocktail
